One app for every edition, all year round

Three or four Flutter apps became one React Native codebase, covering every Tomorrowland edition worldwide and carrying the old radio app's features into CarPlay and Android Auto. My work is the live radio surviving a bad network on both platforms, and the CMS-driven content system the festival screens are built from.

BeeDee

A consumer app, owned end to end

BeeDee felt like a website in a wrapper. I made it native, then spent more work on the signup flow than on anything else, so people stopped falling out of it. Refer-a-friend, travel mode, localisation, and releases moved onto GitHub Actions. It cannot buy ads on Meta, Google or Reddit, so organic search had to carry the growth, and daily clicks are up 84%. Reporting to the CEO, with the team in India.

How much does a React Native app cost?

It depends on what the app has to do, so a quote is built from a few inputs: the features in scope, whether it ships on iOS, Android or both, whether it needs a backend or connects to one you already run, whether the design is finished or still to be made, and the date it has to launch. Send me those and the quote comes back for that scope.

Is React Native a good choice for a new app in 2026?

Yes, for most apps that share their screens across iOS and Android. It is the wrong pick for heavy 3D or games, and for an app built mostly on one platform's newest native APIs. Meta released React Native in 2015 and still maintains it. Since version 0.76, out in October 2024, the New Architecture is on by default. The official docs recommend starting a new app on a framework such as Expo.
